In 2016, the Wade Smith Foundation (WSF) embarked on a mission to transform libraries into vibrant spaces for young readers. The journey began with the establishment of the very first WSF Reading Corner at the Wallace Elementary Library, marking a significant milestone in the foundation's commitment to fostering a love for reading.

These WSF Reading Corners are not your ordinary library nooks; they are carefully crafted havens designed to inspire and captivate young imaginations. Each corner is adorned with a comfortable armchair, a soft rug for a cozy reading experience, and a life-sized cutout of Wade Smith, commemorating his historic touchdown as the first offensive lineman in Texans history.
