December Year in Review
Posted on December 21, 2015

As we step into 2016, we would like to take a moment to reflect on all the great things that happened with the Wade Smith Foundation this past year.  Please enjoy photos from our annual WSF charity weekend, Top Golf fundraiser and Reading with the Pros literacy events, as well as the Read All The Wade contest results.

Each year our founder, Wade Smith, gives back to the Lake Highlands community through his annual charity weekend.  We host three Reading with the Pros at local elementary schools and a free youth football and cheer camp. This year Wade also hosted a casino night gala at the Chase Building in Downtown Dallas. Patrons braved the inclement weather to enjoy a night of fun and philanthropy, generously giving to our programs that benefit the Dallas and Houston communities.

This fall we launched our first "Read All The Wade" contest at Wallace Elementary.  Wade's height was measured and based on each grade's assigned measurement (inch, half-inch, quarter-inch, etc.), the number of books read will be recorded.  The goal was for each grade, at minimum, to read enough books to surpass Wade's height.  The grade that read the most number of books up until the December 1st deadline will get to have a special party.  The classroom within the winning grade that has read the most books will get an extra exciting gift from Wade when he returns in April for his 5th Annual Wade Smith Foundation Charity Weekend.
And the winners are.....

Winning Grade - 2nd grade
Winning Classrooms - Miss Waters and Miss Tegt (both classrooms read 6 "Wades" worth of books!)

Congratulations to our 2015 Read All The Wade winners!
